There was a certain poignancy in picking up again Steve Stewart's debut album Over the Horizon in the week that Darrol Barry passed away, as two of his compositions dominate the early part of the programme.
There is much else that is new, including an intriguing Brandane Rhapsody from Ken Ferguson, and some earlier works for the Soprano from Edward Gregson and Philip Sparke, as well as a sparkling rendition of Malcolm Arnold's Fantasy for Trumpet. This disc was a year in the making, but well worth the wait.
