What an incredibly beautiful surprise this CD was. I’ve enjoyed Martin Ellerby’s music for many years, and of course had great pleasure playing his famous Euphonium Concerto, but this CD with string orchestra is an absolute revelation.
I confess to having it on repeat in the house for several days, enjoying the lush harmonies, gorgeous romantic sounds, and fine stylistic contrasts. Such great music, and so well played by the RNCM String Orchestra
'...a superbly produced recording...intensely moving, and I confess to having shed a few tears as I listened!'
'...an absolute triumph...the raison d'etre is completely justified... just lovely!'
