This work was written for the Wardle High School Junior Brass Band as part of their programme at the National Festival of Music for Youth and first performed by them in Birmingham's Symphony Hall on 10th July 2006.

The piece is ideal for youth bands to perform. In the style of a circus piece, it is just over two minutes in length and fun to play.

The Big Top is simple, short and easy to play and should provide enjoyment for both the player and listener.
