Over the past few years Cory's Music Director, Philip Harper, has set a high benchmark when it comes to the programming of concert recordings - thematic content, imaginative contrasts and stylistic range.
Cory's playing throughout this colourful album impresses with its commitment and class - we have come to expect nothing less over the years. The band's ambition to demonstrate some 'fantastic examples of the art of great brass playing' is realised in every track, from the irrepressible energy of the opener, Valero, to a high-definition, full technicolour reading of Howard Snell's brilliant score, Gallery, which finds the band and its conductor at its characterful best.
